Synaptica Taxonomy Management Solution Support

William Bethwey & Associates has entered into an agreement to provide consulting support for the Synaptica Taxonomy Management solution. Synaptica software is being used by organizations around the world to solve some of the most demanding information access and knowledge management applications.
RMAA Professional Education
In partnership with the Records Management Association of Australasia, William Bethwey & Associates have designed courses to contribute to the professional development of the RMAA membership.
Courses are designed to expose professionals who may be considering further formal education and will give a taste of the level of thinking and writing required for postgraduate or master’s level study. Both courses offer an assessment option which will give feedback on learning and further contribute to professional development. Additional CPD points are awarded for those who pursue the assessment option.
Courses
Knowledge & Information Management Fundamentals - 14 CPD points
The course introduces the theory and practice of Knowledge Management. Over two days it will cover:
- knowledge and information management concepts, strategies, frameworks
- knowledge capability assessment
- the role of business taxonomy
- developing a business case
- how to drive change.
The course will give a taste of the level of thinking and writing required for postgraduate or master’s level study and the optional assessment will give you real feedback on your strengths.
Benefits include: developing a high level understanding of knowledge and information management; adding to career development; and helping decide the next avenue for extending professional knowledge.
Change Management Techniques to Negotiate Rollout of Records Management Systems. 7 CPD Points.
This one day workshop introduces the theory and practice of Organisational Change Management to help you:
- Understand the reciprocal relationship between organisational change and the individual
- Become familiar with a range of change management models
- Be able to analyse a problem situation and select an appropriate change management model
- Apply the ‘Eight Step Process’ to leading change
- Develop problem solving skills using change management models.
Benefits include: developing an understanding of techniques available to help introduce change into your organisation and to position you to take a leading role in that change.

Our Instructors
Dr Rod Dilnutt is a Director of William Bethwey & Associates. He has over twenty years experience, including ten years with a “Big Five” consultancy company where he led the Knowledge Based Business Service line for Asia Pacific. Rod has specialized strategic knowledge management and has developed and implemented strategy for over 25 blue chip organisations in the private and public sectors in Australia and overseas. He has broad experience in information management, process reformation, cultural change management and knowledge enabling technologies.
He holds an MBA and a Doctorate in Knowledge Management and is also a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne. He teaches knowledge management information systems strategy and change management in Masters and MBA degree programs. In addition he leads a number of research programmes into the field of knowledge management.
Annabel Hay is a Principal Consultant of William Bethwey & Associates. She has over fifteen years as a Knowledge and Information Management practitioner. She specializes in the development of organisational capability to adopt leading Knowledge Management practice. She has expertise in changing organisational relationships via communities of practice, coaching new behaviours, building and applying taxonomies and adapting emerging technologies to ensure they work toward achieving business goals.
Annabel is a qualified Librarian, holding post-graduate qualifications in information management and holds a Master of Knowledge Management from The University of Melbourne. She has delivered professional education in knowledge management for over ten years.
Lisa Enright is a Principal Consultant of William Bethwey & Associates. She has over 15 years experience as a knowledge and change management practitioner. During this time Lisa has gained extensive experience consulting to both the private and public sectors in document and records management, change management and knowledge management.
Lisa is a recognised change leader and has assisted major organizations with complex transformation of usiness practices. She is also an active thought leader in knowledge management and holds a Masters degree in records and information management. She regularly gives guest lectures in post-graduate rogrammes and has published a number of professional articles.
